7 TERROIRS - 2020

The 2020 Riesling dry redefines the gutswine-category. Gutswines are mostly dry, varietal wines that are cuvées from different vineyards. They have existed in Germany since the 1985 vintage. Now their developement is entering the next phase and the quality is being increased again. 

Soils: [...] The hillside and steep slope vineyards of GHB have without exception stony soils which consist of weathered volcanic melaphyre and rhyolite as well as metamorphic shale. The special taste of Riesling wines from these locations was celebrated by experts generations ago and that is exactly what you can find in the "7 Terroirs". The 100 % spontaneously fermented wine has a very distinctive smoky-mineral note, lots of race and wonderful juiciness (grapefruit!). [...]
