Carbon Dioxide

The two main products of alcoholic fermentation are alcohol and carbon dioxide in equal quantities.

At Gut Hermannsberg we work hard to conserve the natural “spritz” of carbon dioxide that remains dissolved in the young wines after fermentation, because it makes them taste brighter and more lively. Even after some years of bottle aging it can still be present in the wine.
