Niederhäuser IN DER ROSSEL MONOPOLE

The VDP.GROSSE LAGE® "In der Rossel" captivates as one of the steepest vineyard sites in the Middle Nahe Valley, with slopes reaching up to 80 percent incline.

Some parts of the slopes are terraced, with walls and very rocky, porous soils. Just above lies an old quarry. The south and southeast facing position of the site quickly warms up during the day and cools significantly at night. Riesling thrives on this contrast. The soil is characterized by a special complexity and possesses elements that typically do not occur together. These are attributed to very active volcanic movements - carbon shale and at the same time volcanic porphyry. This provides exceptional conditions for an extraordinary, multi-layered, elegant, and mineral Riesling.
